Summary~!

The purpose of this article is to summarize all the information about Introduction of Journalism and Communication. Firstly I want to say, this is a really interesting course to study and deep thanks for professor Dr Bruce Redman and my tutor Miss Marie M'Balla-Ndi.

This course introduces the journalism and communication occupations and practices. It is a foundation for further studies in these areas and provides the opportunity to critically investigate both the practice and theory of these fields.

--COURSE PROFILE

There are twelve lectures in this semester:

1.     Introduction

2.     New News

3.     Text

4.     Picture Stories

6.    Commercial Media

7.    Public Media

8.    Ethics

9.    News Values

11. Agenda setting

12. Investigative Journalism

Through learning this course, I started to notice many small normal things which I used to ignored. Because when I attend one lecture, I always realized that the knowledge which I studied was just from normal life. Those twelve topics above actually show every day in my life, but if there is no one to mention them, I will never think about them. Moreover, if I see something happened, I will use different way to regard that thing. For instance, when I saw advertisements on the TV while I was watching one teleplay, I used to go away to have a rest and when the teleplay shows again I will go back. However, if the advertisements show now, I will think more about “Journalism and communication” staff, like if it is commercial media or not. This course successfully leads me to the right track of Journalism.
